How to format a hard drive

Format the hard drive of your NVR system through the Hard Disk Management menu

Before recording can start, the hard drive of your NVR usually needs to be formatted. Follow the steps below to do this from the NVR system desktop.

Steps

  1. Open the NVR system desktop and click "Home" in the lower left corner to pop up the menu bar.

  2. Find "Hard Disk Management", click to enter, then find "Format".

  3. Click "Format" and "Confirm" to format the hard drive.

Formatting will erase all data on the hard drive. Make sure you have backed up any recordings you want to keep before formatting.
