How to reset the administrator password

Use the hardware reset button on the back panel to restore the NVR administrator password to its default

If you can no longer access your NVR and email retrieval is not an option, you can perform a hardware reset to restore the administrator password to the factory default.

Steps

Turn the NVR around so the back panel faces you and locate the red reset button. Using the reset needle (or a small pin), press and hold the red button for about 5 seconds until you hear a "ding" sound, which indicates the reset was successful. The NVR will then restart automatically. When the login screen appears after the restart, enter the default administrator password 888888 and click the login button.

Resetting the administrator password also restores other administrator settings to their defaults. Make sure you really need a full reset before proceeding.
